After running De Heuvel Olive and Wine estate in Tulbagh for 10 years, we decided to move to Robertson and set up camp at Mallowdeen Gardens at the end of We have always shared a love for hosting, and felt that it was time for a new challenge. Lizel is an artist at heart, and in her free time enjoys crafting and reading. Gaetan is an avid chef, who can answer all your questions about food and wine. He is not afraid of working with his hands, and together with Lizel loves working in the garden, and is fond of permaculture. In the coming year, Lizel and Gaetan plan to have Mallowdeen Gardens go completely green, and are busy with extensive upgrades to bring the vision to life. At Mallowdeen Gardens, tranquillity has always been central, and the Zen theme adds to this experience, with quaint spots ideal for meditation and relaxation. Our premises are the perfect place to shed the city stress. Additionally, in the coming year we plan to reinvent Mallowdeen Gardens into a green and organic setting, something the owners are very passionate about. Our gardens and the beautiful mountain backdrop serve as the perfect setting for matric farewell pictures, proposals, and weddings. We can even provide a photographer for your special day. Snug at the foot of the Langeberg, in the heart of the Robertson wine valley, lies Mallowdeen Gardens, where hospitality, comfort, and privacy are the keywords. The region offers wine tasting, river cruises, and game drives. Robertson also boasts an 18 hole golf course, as well as hiking, cycling, horse riding and canoeing. If you simply want to shed some city stress, our guests can relax at the pool, or take a stroll through the gardens. Accommodation is offered in two African styled thatched cottages, and a spacious apartment linked to the main building. To ensure a relaxed and tranquil environment, we operate a no children policy.
