Transfers to and from Cape Town International Airport can be arranged. We offer a same-day laundry service, provided items are collected before 12pm. With 10 distinct rooms, a new restaurant and bar, two pool areas, a wellness room and ample gardens, the Robertson Small provides superlative service to our guests, maintaining the standards that make it Robertson’s only five-star hotel. We are proud to be Robertson’s only five-star accommodation and have been routinely named among South Africa’s finest luxury country hotels. The Small Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily with all bookings by appointment. Seating is both inside the Manor House and on the patio beside the hotel gardens. A classic menu with refined seasonal dishes elevates the best in local produce and is accompanied by choice wines from the valley. The EM Bar serves a small range of cocktails alongside a selection of the valley’s finest wines. From a custom bar in blue and white porcelain by artist Michael Chandler craft liquor producers such as Hope on Hopkins gin and Bain’s Cape Mountain whisky are accompanied with syrups and cordials made on site. Our poolside Wellness Room is open seven days a week and offers a variety of services for both guests and day visitors. Robertson is located just two hours from Cape Town, along the R62, the world’s longest wine route. The four Manor House suites sport typically Victorian high, embossed ceilings and large windows onto the veranda. En-suite bathrooms with heated towel rails & under-floor heating. In the 150 years since it was founded a lot has changed in Robertson but arguably just as much has not. There is decidedly less wagon building and ostrich feather faming these days, but this is still a small country town flanked by vast, imperious mountain ranges on the banks of the Breede River, decorated by Victorian and Edwardian architecture and streets lined with the purple-flowering Jacaranda trees. These days, wine farming is the valley’s main distraction; indeed, the number of wine cellars in the area has doubled in the past two decades, with many of the newer wineries quickly establishing themselves as industry beloveds. The Small has formed close relationships with many of the surrounding, mostly family-run farms and smallholdings, and curated a selection of bespoke experiences to allow guests to best enjoy the intimate charms of the region. The Small Guide, available to all guests, is a directory of such activities.
